Well to be honest when you decided to start your blog it is already half way friendly to the search engines.  This is only because they are seen by search engines to be highly relevant and updated frequently with unique content. 

So, I am going to assume that you took may advice and you already started your blog. Whether you are going to primarily as your business or has the center of your hub (more on this later), you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the interesting blogs online.

Here’s how:

1. Consider your audience

Even if your purpose for creating your blog is to make a profit, still, you must consider the desires of your target audience. If you are to become successful in your chosen business then it is necessary for you to serve the target you have chosen.  By giving them what they desire you will get what you desire.

2. Pictures do speak a thousand words

Why not liven up you blog by placing images on your blog to illustrate your written thoughts. It is not necessary for you to place a picture of yourself on every page of your blog.  Any photographs will do as long as they are free to be used by the public or ones that you have purchased rights to.

3. Make constructive and beneficial blogs

Now you are free to write anything you want, it is beneficial to create articles that are beneficial to your
readers.  If you focus your attention only on speaking about yourself, family and ambitions, you may find that your target audience that you have been striving to capture leaving just as fast as they came.

It’s ok to provide entertainment from time to time make sure however to balance that with the information that your audience 1st came to your blog for.

4. Dignity in simplicity

In order to keep the attention of your readers keep your words and down to earth.  The best way to do so is to write to your post as if you are writing letters to a good friend.

As you continue to write your post in this fashion you will find that you will begin to make a connection with your readers.

Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than deep reading.  Therefore, it is best to create blog post because they are long and wordy.

5. Make it interactive

You can take this idea one step forward by using video to make your points even stronger.  Video also has the power to communicate your thoughts, opinions and ideas on a much higher level. 

If you don’t think so then consider the power of YouTube andother video sharing sites.  Imagine creating one video that becomes viral and receiving endless traffic.

Make it well known to your readers that the blog is theirs to by pointing them to your comments and feedback box. Doing so will give the impressions or reactions of your reader a greater level of importance.

I just wanted to write a quick post to show you how to make your blog stand out from everyone else’s blog.  When you set up your blog you were given same generic blog template that everyone else receives. 

But unlike others I will help you to set yourself apart from others who are simply to lazy to change their template from the plain basic one they receive from WordPress.

Here we go.

Login into the admin section of your blog and click design this will allow you to view the current themes that you have available to you for upload.  Make yourself familiar with this page as it will soon become your best friend.

Scroll down to the bottom of the “design” page and you will find the link “WordPress theme directory”.  The “WordPress theme directory” will give you access to several themes that you can consider for downloading as your new theme.

For additional themes you can also visit Google and search for WordPress themes.

Once you have found your theme all you need now to do is download theme, extract the files from the folder and upload them to your blog.

Here is what you need to do to upload theme to your blog.

1. Download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the file from the zip file.
3. Open your FTP account and blog folder that contains your WordPress Blog
4. Open your wp-content folder
5. Move your new found theme into the theme folder
6. Visit the Design section of your blog
7. Click your new design

That’s it.

Be willing to become a part of the community. Check out the forum, become a member and make timely post that fit the conversation. If you happen to stumble upon a forum thread about the videogame “Guitar Hero”, it doesn’t make sense for you to jump in and start promoting your Eastern medicine remedy for pink eye. You see its easy to take part in the community of Craigslist as long as what you have to say makes sense and you follow the rules. By following the rules you will find that you will set yourself apart from every other business owner who chooses to be different just try and make a short term sell.

Remember you are running a business and no business can exist without customers coming through the door and making purchases. In this case you want your customers to trust and believe in you through your established credibility with in the community.
